Recycled Gift Bags

I used these simple medallions to convert some store gift bags into a more personalized gift presentation. The initials are cut from the Storybook font. The scalloped circles were cut and embossed with Nestabilities dies.

These heavy gold bags were from the Godiva chocolate store.

At some point I ended up with a stack of unused bags (I think they may have been donated to a tag sale I helped with). I found them in my attic and realized that they needed only a simple "fix" to make them perfect for delivering some gifts to my friends.

I could have cut the scalloped circles with my Cricut - using either a cut from one of several cartridges or the adjustable scalloped circle files I have designed (here is a LINK to the post with the  Plantin Schoolbook file and here is a LINK to the post with the George file).

But there is just something about that embossed edge the Nestabilities create that I can't resist!

What's in the bags? I should be able to do some "show and tell" tomorrow (I just had time for a quick post tonight - today has been hectic trying to get things ready for my younger son to go to visit his brother in San Francisco).

  2. What a truly great idea!!! We all have extra gift bags sitting around... and this is much more "green" than buying more and tossing out what we have!!
