One More Scalloped Notecard

This card style seems to be quite popular. In the comments on my last post, I had a request by someone who had neither New Arrival nor Plantin Schoolbook to do the file one more time using George - so here is the last of these (for now).

I decided to put a shape in the oval instead of a letter. You can place whatever you want in the center for different occasions - since Valentine's Day is coming up, I used a heart.

I did the test cut on double sided paper again and I liked the brown showing through when I first took the cut off the mat and folded it.

I looked at my "leftover" paper from making the cut (I used a 12 x 12 sheet this time) and then realized that I could cut pieces to line the front from the remainder. Below you can see how I cut the paper - I used a trimmer to cut at 3 1/2 inches and then cut two 5 1/4 inch pieces from that strip,

I cut an additional piece of plain writing paper at 3 1/2 inches x 5 1/4 inches for the inside of the back.

I found it easiest to put adhesive on the plain paper and then center it on the front of the card - sticky side up.

Then I folded over the scalloped back carefully to adhere the writing paper.

To line the front you can put the adhesive on the card itself or the liner as you can see in the photos below.

If you put it on the liner be sure to stay close to the edges so the adhesive won't show through the opening. Then center the liner on the back using the writing paper that is now in place as a guide and fold the card over to adhere it neatly to the front.

Both papers are now fully adhered to the card. Below you can see the finished inside of the card.

So many possibilities with this one!

Trying to anticipate the only other request I can think of right now - yes, I did a single version for the baby bug mat too...

  8. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have to make over 150 programs for a Valentine's Tea and I'm going with a card format. Your design inspired me to make this same design for A2 card fronts (4 per 12x12 sheet) and then I added some little heart cutouts above the bigger cut out. This is just such a pretty design! Thank you for all your hard work and inspiration and free files! Joy
