Photo Friday

Thursday was a beautiful day here in Concord, Massachusetts.  It was very warm for March and also very windy.  I grabbed my camera and went out to take some photos.

Even though the thermometer said this...

We still had quite a bit of snow in the back yard.

In the sunnier parts of the yard the snow was nearly gone - I am sure there will be nothing but soggy grass by the end of the day.

I thought the combination of blue sky and sun on the dried hydrangeas was very eye-catching.

It is always nice to walk in to town instead of driving.  I think you see so much more when you are on foot.  I never noticed this sign designating the first road in town until yesterday.  This is a very old road!

I saw this doily decorating a shop window and went in to ask if they had some for sale.  It turned out that the shop owner got the doilies at Michael's - maybe I need to make a field trip...

The flag in front of the Post office was being whipped around by the wind.  I kept snapping photos in the hopes of getting one that showed most of the flag.  I took the photo from this side but it looks "wrong."

With one click the magic of digital photo editing allowed me to turn the flag around so the stars are at the top left.

Many of the shops are decorated for St. Patrick's Day - I'd better pull out a few things here at home.

If you are looking for a quick decoration to make for next weekend you might want to try this project.  Just click the photo to go to the original post. You can find other St. Patrick's Day projects by clicking the label "H - St. Patrick's Day" in the right side column.  I haven't quite finished up the redoing of the labels but I think most of them will be there.

Blitsy will have new items posted today.  If you are a Facebook user, be sure to go to their page and "like" it before 12 p.m. Pacific Standard Time today.  They will be choosing 20 random winners from all of their Facebook "likes" who will each receive a $25 Blitsy credit.

I'd love to know if any of you who use Silhouette machines were able to create an incire design following the directions I posted yesterday.  Some of you really want a video so I'll try to get that done this weekend.

Have a wonderful weekend and don't forget to turn your clocks ahead on the 11th!

  5. Love your pictures Diane, thank you for sharing them. The Shamrock is so neat I went to my local Michaels and did not find the green ones, maybe other fellow readers of your blog got to them before me ;)

    Have a wonderful weekend!
