More Medallions

Here (at last) are the medallions I have been promising for the past few days! There are lots of pictures today and I hope you will enjoy all of the variations you will see. These designs were made using some elements from the Calligraphy Collection cartridge.

Above is a screen shot showing the element I used for the thin frame.

This screen shot shows the element used for the flower shaped medallion.

The files for these include three sizes - due to the angles involved I couldn't make them adjustable but it is quick and easy to duplicate them at different sizes.

I did test cuts of both frames in two colors and all three sizes.

Here they are in small,

medium,

and large.

The first design is the thin frame

be sure to save the centers of these cuts when you remove them from the mat.

The second design is the flower.

By layering these cuts in various combinations you can make many interesting designs. The following examples will help you see the possibilities. The background color of the card you use contributes to the design for many different looks. (All of these photos are just the cuts layered in different ways and they are not adhered to the cards so please ignore any that are slightly off center!).

You can even save the surrounding offcuts left from cutting the medallions and layer cuts from some of the medallions I have posted in the past few weeks with even more interesting results.

Have fun with these and, if you haven't already, don't forget to leave your comment on the "blogoversary" post - tomorrow night I will be drawing the names of three people to receive the gifts.
