Cricut Site Updates - Handbooks are back!

Happy Friday!  Did you have a nice day for the first day of Spring yesterday?  It was sunny and a bit warmer in Wisconsin - so I guess it is time for me to leave!

I received several questions from readers wondering where to find the handbooks for re-released Creative Memories cartridges I told you about yesterday (click HERE and then choose "Re-released images" to see the CM cartridges).  There used to be a cartridge library on the Cricut website but it was taken down some time ago.

So here is some good news - the handbooks are back!  I think that looking through the handbook is still the best way to really get a good idea of what you can do with a cartridge and whether it is a good fit for your needs.  You can find the full list at this link:  http://www.cricut.com/home/handbooks

You can also take a look at the cartridges in the Cricut Design Space to see fully assembled versions of the images.

While I was looking around on the Cricut site, I noticed a few other updates that will be very helpful.  When you are looking at a cartridge in the shopping section, there is now an indication that you already own the cartridge.  This will be helpful for those of us who sometimes buy the same thing twice!

There are also new explanations of the various ways to use and buy images.  This should help answer a lot of questions about the subscription vs. purchase decision.

If you click on the "Make" tab there is now an easy way to see the images that are free to cut each week (these may or may not be images that are already included in the subscription if you have one).

In case you were wondering - the free set this week is the Teresa Collins Easter Basket set.

If you have a chance - take a look around the Cricut website HERE.  You will probably find some more helpful updates and improvements.

Thanks again to everyone who supports my blog by using my affiliate link to shop at the Cricut site.  There is no difference in the cost to you and your purchase generates a commission to help me pay some of my expenses for this blog.

I hope you have a great weekend planned - I'll be finishing up a few projects for my sister and brother-in-law today and will be flying home tomorrow.

  1. Hi Diane; I appreciate the link to Handbooks. I ordered a few of the rereleased carts. I cannot see the Handbook for Best of Times though. I looked under Creative Memories Best of Times and in the B's. I downloaded the other two I'll need. Diana.

  2. Hi Diana,
The Best of Times cartridge was a special cartridge that was only available with the machines that were sold through Creative Memories. It has a small number of images. I couldn't find a link to a handbook for you but you can look in the Cricut Craftroom to see the images. I can't seem to get it to show up in the Cricut Design Space. There was probably just a trifold like the ones for the Sampler or Lite cartridges.

  3. Hi Diane. This is really helpful. My handbooks for the carts I own are up in the closet! Guess what!??? I bought the Explore! I got it the other day and have been playing with it or daydreaming about it since. I have a couple questions about it. Will try to ask tomorrow. Hope you have a good trip home.
