Textures and Backgrounds on the Farm

Happy Monday!  I hope you had a great weekend.  We enjoyed the family reunion but the long drive there and back was tiring.  I have a few photos that I took around the farm to share this morning.  I'll be catching up with email and messages and getting back to crafting later today.

The apples aren't ready to pick yet but they do make a pretty picture.  The crop is not what it should be this year due to the bad weather conditions we've had.

I am fascinated by the textures in this photo of one of the old rusty wheels that lean against the barn.

The hollyhocks are such a bright pink and they look so pretty when they catch the sunlight.

The farmhouse and many of the houses in the area were built with cobblestones from the lake by the masons who worked on the Erie canal.  The lines, shapes, colors and texture are very interesting.

A lot of the photos I took are meant to be used as backgrounds for pages.  This is a nice way to add more personalization to your digital projects.  I'll share some examples of finished pages soon.

a couple of updates...

Creative Memories had their annual convention this weekend in Minneapolis.  I wasn't able to be in two places at once, but I did try to follow the information about new products that was available online.  There is a new Cricut cartridge coming out later this fall that looks great!  It is called Holiday Frames and Tags and has 3D boxes, envelopes and 3D Rosettes.   I'll share more information about it as soon as I can - from the little bits and pieces I saw I think it will be very popular!

The new Memory Manager photo editing and organizing program will be available soon and there are several exciting upgrades to the program, including facial recognition You can see a short video about the new program on the Creative Memories You Tube channel - just click HERE to see the video.

Blitsy is doing another campaign to invite more new members to join the site.  Membership is free and after  you join, you can get a referral code, invite friends and family members to the site and earn product credits.  If you aren't a member yet, I'd appreciate it if you use my link to join - thanks for helping me feed my craft supplies addiction!  Just click HERE - thanks!

There are new items posted on Blitsy every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and the sales last one week or until an item is sold out or "blitsed!"

Oh and by the way - the cupcakes were a hit at the reunion!

Have a great day.

  2. Your pictures look just like my Granny's house and property in Texas. It's on the National Registry and over 100 years old. Your photography gets better and better.
