Apple Picking in upstate New York

It was a beautiful day and we had a great time with all of the family members who made it to the farm for apple picking - from Massachusetts, New Jersey, California, New Hampshire and Colorado.

I already have a title designed for some apple picking pages - I did it on the Gypsy in the car yesterday. It was a day full of fresh air and exercise and we need to get some sleep so I will just share a few photos from our day...

This is the old barn at the farm - the mural has been repainted several times over the years.

Our oldest son and his girlfriend picking apples.

Some of the bins of apples we all picked today.

How to empty your picking bag...lower it, open the bottom and don't bruise the apples.

The apples are big and juicy this year - there was lots of rain!

Chief Apple Farmer and Head Apple Picker (Grandpa).

Apple picking brothers!

I hope you are all having a great weekend - we head back to Massachusetts tomorrow (this was just a quick trip to get a chance to see everyone). I'll work on some more titles in the car tomorrow - it's great to have the Gypsy along!

  1. Beautiful pictures. Glad you had a good time and thanks for the apple picking education! Will you share the titles so we can see what you are doing with the Gypsy?

  2. Hi Susan,

I will be happy to share the titles as soon as there is an update to the software that will allow me to do this.

In the meanwhile, I hope to cut the titles and do some pages once we are home again and I will certainly share the layouts.

  3. and here I thought they had machines to do the Great photos and what a wonderful time you must have had!!..Yummy looking apples!

  4. Looks like great fun was had by all .. and got a little craftiness done as well.

  5. You are so blessed to have such a wonderful time.. looks like everyone had a super time... Are they coming out with a way to share the files made on the gypsy??? Sounds like you are really enjoying it.

  6. Looks like ya'll had a great time. I love good apples.

  7. I love the pictures! I am an army brat and grew up in Texas. I have always wanted to vacation in the North East. I love the photo that you took awhile back of the North Bridge and the historical places you go to. The pictures you just posted of the apples are wonderful and I have to say I really loved the one of the "Chief Apple Farmer and Head Apple Picker" I can imagine the wonderful smell of the pipe and the smell of the apples. Made me think of my grandfather. He was a farmer in Illinois. He smoked a pipe and loved apples. Every time I smell a pipe I always have wonderful memories of my grandpa. He always carried a pocket knife and would cut me off a piece of his apple. Thanks for sharing. This inspired me to do a page dedicated to my grandpa who loved apples and his pipe!
    Have a wonderful day.

  8. The additional items are great! Thank you again for this chance. I would have to say I am a bit of a collector and partial pack rat. Lol I have taken over a room in the house for my scrapbook, craft and sewing. I do have lots of cartridges. I like to see what you do with some of the carts and what you have to say about them to help me make up my mind on what goes on my wish list . When the new cartridge designs are available for download to DS I like to see what is on the cartridge and play with it a little to see if it’s a cartridge I would use. When Hobby Lobby has the paper on sale I shop for my paper. Stickers and embellishments are where I have a problem. I went over board collecting and now having a hard time trying to figure out a good way to store them, organize them and know what I have. The dimensional are now in clear plastics storage boxes that are stacked by baby, vacation, holiday etc.
    Have a good day,
