CHA Mega Show - find out what's new...

The Craft and Hobby Association Winter Trade Show starts on Friday with the education program and the trade show will be taking place from Saturday until Tuesday.  I have been to the show a few times but I won't be going this year.  If you have been following some of your favorite company and designer blogs you may have already seen some sneak peeks.

It's an exciting time since we all love to see new things - even when we have craft spaces that are overstuffed with products and tools already!  The show is in Anaheim, California and is not open to the general public.  So... how do you find out what is new?

Nancy Nally at Scrapbook Update does a great job of listing all of the sneak peeks by various companies and designers.  If you click HERE you can find her list of all of the publicly available sneak peeks - lots of eye candy if you follow those links!  The list can be sorted by clicking the arrows at the top to help you find the links you are most interested in checking out.

One of the most interesting things about attending the show in the past was to see the incredible booths and displays that the various companies put together.  These photos are from the Epiphany Crafts display in 2011.  I loved the way they strung the flowers to create a ceiling over their area.  This idea would be great for a party at home.

Some of the booths are simply incredible.  DCWV usually has a spectacular display - like these amazing paper dresses from a few years ago (click HERE to see more photos of the dresses).  The Graphic 45 booth is also a favorite and all of the Tim Holtz displays are full of interesting vintage things (in addition to the products).

I am eager to see photos of this year's displays.  It is amazing to have so much creativity collected in one giant space.  I hope that I'll be able to go to the show again - maybe next year.

Thanks for the feedback about design classes for the Silhouette software.  I'll probably do some videos and may also put together an online class like the ones I did for the Cricut Design Studio software a few years ago.  I'll start out with some simple tips and we'll see where things go from there...

I get to recording as soon as my voice is back to normal - I think this cold is finally ending so I should sound like myself soon.

Have fun checking out all of the new products and the news from CHA!

  1. I would be delighted to have a class on the Cameo Silhouette as I still have not mastered it yet. But, I love the machine so much and do not use the Cricut or the Imagine as much as before. However, I find the Imagine cuts better than the Cricut Expression. Just my thoughts only. Hope to see you giving classes on the Silhouette.
