New Cricut Cartridges and a Silhouette Sale

Two new Cricut cartridges were announced in a "surprise" Hello Thursday yesterday.  Both of these cartridges had already been found in JoAnn stores and discussed on the Cricut message boards so it really wasn't that much of a surprise...  You can find the "Hello Thursday" page on the site HERE.

Create A Critter 2 looks very much like the original Create a Critter but there are lots of seasonal and holiday icons and phrases.  If you loved Create a Critter, you'll probably love this cartridge too (but you may wonder if it seems too similar to the first cartridge).  You can find the full handbook HERE on the site.

Suburbia makes me think of the TV show Mad Men with phrases and images from the 50's and 60's.  It is similar to Forever Young, with silhouetted figures that have colorful layers added.  There is a font called "housewife" in regular and italic versions, both with shadows.  The font is in a style that is very popular right now and would be great for making posters.  You can find the full handbook HERE on the site.

If you have a Silhouette machine, there is a 25% off sale on purchases from the Silhouette America site The sale will run until September 12th and does not include the Cameo, downloads, download cards, subscriptions or gift cards.  Just use the code BACKPACK at checkout.  Some of the supplies can also be used with a Cricut machine.

The days are getting shorter and fall is arriving.  There was a beautiful sunset last night with very bright pink light.  I have something special planned for tomorrow so be sure to stop by!

  1. Beautiful photo! I am so glad to see Summer coming to an end. Love cool crisp weather.

  2. So glad to see I'm not crazy. I've been wondering what all the hubbub was about with the new CAC cart since almost all of the critters are on the old cart and the accessories can be found on other carts. That being said, this would be a good cart to start with if you're new to cricut.

  3. I wish that Provo Craft would not put so many duplicates of cartridges that are already out there and make new ones. This is only beneficial to those who are just now buying cartridges, and that would be a great start for them, but not us who have other cartridges with these duplicate images.
