The End of Summer...

I hope you are having a nice Labor Day weekend.  Hurricane Earl turned out to be just a windy and rainy night for us and the weather here was beautiful today.  We have lots of family things going on but I did try to spend a little bit of time crafting.

I have so many projects going on that I needed to clear some more space to work in my craftroom and I came across this great paper tape that our older son gave me for my birthday (after a big "hint" from me!).  I found this type of tape when we visited him in San Francisco last spring and only got a few colors then so my collection is increasing.

There are many sources for this tape - try searching for "Japanese paper tape" to find some.  This particular brand has a website HERE with lots of information about the history of the tape at this LINK.

Since I tried weaving paper strips yesterday, I just started weaving the paper tape...you could do an entire card front and make a sort of gingham plaid.

The adhesive on the tape is strong but you can easily lift and replace the strips several times without harming the card base at all.  I needed to fix my "over-under" pattern and had no trouble sorting it out.

The colors of the tape are very summery and I thought of the Summer Medley from Creative Charms which was part of the July Deal of the Month (still available as a separate item).

I used glue dots to add the seaside charms at the tape intersections for a super simple card.

I want to let you know about a few new specials on the Creative Charms site. There is a 28 piece Countryside Mini Kit with blue or orange crocheted flowers for $5.49 (regular price $10.50).

A 17 piece Dream Garden Mini Kit is available for $4.99 (regular price $9.50) in green or purple.

Some great new Seasonal Celebrations products have just been added - you can click HERE to see all of them.  I have received some of them and my favorites so far are the Self Adhesive Metal Frames for Christmas and Halloween.

There is also a Make-It-Yours version of these frames and I have some plans for these!  To see all of the New Products on the Creative Charms site, click HERE.

One more new addition to the Creative Charms site is the Project Instructions area under the Creative Lounge tab.  The Designer Gallery will be up soon as well so there is lots of inspiration to be found.  You can also check the Creative Charms Blog and Facebook Page for more ideas on ways to use their products.

I am looking forward to the fall - the autumn leaves and the cooler days are great in New England (but I think we have just a little more summer to come).  I think that autumn is my favorite season.  I do have some fun Cricut projects that I can share in another day or so - I don't want to spoil a surprise so I can't post them just yet.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
