Combining Digital and Cricut in your projects

Today I thought I'd remind you about the sales going on for the Creative Memories Storybook Creator Plus 3.0 software ($20 off for the download version - details HERE) and the Lettering Delights Dollar Days sale.

To see how I use the Creative Memories program and the Lettering Delights digital elements in combination with my Cricut you can go to THIS POST for a detailed explanation of one method of "digital coloring" and cutting a simple digital design on the Cricut.

For this card I started with an image that looked like this...

...and ended up with this as my final card image.  Then I cut out the design with my Cricut and also cut out a scalloped circle to use on my card front.

There are some more examples in the first post about this card showing how I work with the Lettering Delights images and recolor them with my Creative Memories papers.  You can read that post HERE.

I have used this method for years and I enjoy the process of changing images to suit my plans.  I also enjoy making my own digital images and background papers.  I hope that eventually there will be a way to add our own digital creations to projects done with the Imagine machine.  Right now it is a closed system and the only digital images you can use are those that are on the Imagine cartridges.  One of my favorite features of the Creative Memories program is the ability to use any digital content.  I have purchased many of the CM packages but also use digital items that I purchase elsewhere or get as freebies.  It will be interesting to see how things develop.  In the meanwhile, i can use this method to print and cut items that are not on an Imagine cartridge.
