Blog Celebration Day 2 and Deals to Share

Wow, from 0 to almost 200 in just one day!  Thanks to so many of you who have already signed up for my new newsletter.  The blog celebration will continue throughout the rest of the month as I fill the three boxes.  I have lots of goodies to add so check back often (every day if you want to).

To enter for a chance to win one of the three boxes - see all of the details on the first blog celebration post HERE.  Then come back and get your comments in on this post.  Remember, if you sign up for the new newsletter (see the box at the top right of the page) I will be choosing one person from the subscribers as a box winner (you don't need to leave a comment here since I can see that list).

Today I am adding just a little something to each box (some days I'll add "large" items and other days it might be something little - like a roll of heart patterned washi tape...).

Here is a closer view of my roll of the same washi tape that I added to each box.  I love washi tape and have used it for years.  I sometimes make cards and other projects with it, but other times I might use it to wrap a package or seal a bag or envelope with a little treat inside.

Today's question to answer in your comment is:

Do you use washi tape?  How many rolls do you have?  I think washi tape is mildly addictive!  The price point is so low, there is a lot on each roll and you can do so many fun things with it.  Tell me your thoughts about washi tape...

Finally, if you are a Papertrey Ink fan, I just heard today that they will be retiring some of their stamp sets and putting them into "the Vault." They won't be completely gone, you will still be able to order them, but the price will be double and there will be a long wait time since they will be individually manufactured to order.

Click HERE to download the list of sets that will be going into "The Vault" as of February 15th, 10pm EST.  If there are any that you want, it would make sense to order them now!

Can you believe that there is another snowstorm coming?  When will this winter come to an end!  Stay safe if you are in the path of this next storm - it is supposed to get here Thursday...

  11. Oh I love Washi tape! I have several loads and would love to ade the heart roll...too sweet! What I love best about Washi tape is that it is so forgiving... I'm not the best crafter in the world but if it mess up...it comes off so easy. Everyone one in a while I do get lucky and put it on smooth and even!

  13. A few months ago I bought 11 rolls of Washi tape, but haven't figured out what to do with them yet. They are pastels in polka dots, checks and flowers. I think I would like Washi tape better in bright colors and wild patterns!

  16. I hadn't used Washi tape in the past - I thought I had enough "collections" - ribbon, twine, etc. But before the holidays I couldn't resist the WeRMemory keepers carousel deal at Costco - now I have several rolls and need to start using it!

  22. I have 54 washi tapes now (purged some that I would never use) but hardly use it. I started with all of Tim Holtz's tapes and then had to have some of the others. I just can't quite figure out how to use it on my pages. When I think about it, nothing seems to work. I do like the heart washi that you are adding to the box - that I would use. Linda

  26. Washi is a great accent and very versatile too. I used it yesterday to create a table tent display for school--used it to tape my pieces of paper together--they will bend but be sturdy.

  43. I have about 10 rolls of washi tape but don't use them that often. I've been moving away from traditional handmade cards to more simple print and cut cards and haven't figured out how to use washi tape with my style. The most recent project I used the tape on was for decorating candle jars.

  59. Oh my goodness, I LOVE washi tape!!! I have about 50+ rolls of it and continue to buy more (yes, it's an addiction). I store most of it in a really big clear jar (like a cookie jar) so i can see all the colors, patterns, etc. I use it more on my scrapbook pages than I do on my cards, but I have made a few cards with it.

  67. No to washi tape. Getting excited about stencils.

    ReplyDelete
  68. LOL! I had too many to guess but after counting, I don't have the most. I have 37 rolls. It is addictive and I use it on everything. Layouts, cards and projects. My D-i-L likes the purse trash can I made out of a pill bottle. I saw it on Pinterest and knew she needed one to keep up with the tissues, candy wrappers, etc. my granddaughter discards. I wrapped different tapes around the bottle, sort of a in collage effect. I ended up making several and giving them to my friends.

  69. I have less than 10 rolls. Like to use them as an accent on cards. Our scool mascot is an owl, so my latest go-to is a cute multi-owl tape at WalMart (not labelled Washi, but looks like it).

  70. Love that Washi tape. I have about 20 rolls but still haven't used it as cleverly as some crafters.

  71. Although Washi Tape intrigues me, I have yet to buy a roll. I see many cute ideas, but I'm afraid once I get it I won't utilize it to it's full potential. That doesn't mean I won't break down and buy some tomorrow! LOL! Thank you Diane for putting together these goodies, some people will be oh so lucky!

  72. I do own Washi tape. I have 9 regular sized rolls and 3 skinny rolls. I bought it at the time because I thought it was pretty, which it is, but I never had a real plan for it. I guess I was caught up in the hype. I tend to forget about it but the times that I do remember is when I need to tape down my dies to run through my cutting machine. The tape is perfect because it doesn't tear the paper when removed. I know that is a sad use for it but it is true. Thanks again for the chance to win.

  81. I have enough washi tape to fill one of those boxes, I'm sure (although some of it is actually the tissue tape by Tim Holtz). I don't use it enough, but love using it to add a special touch of color or pattern. I took Washi Wahoo and got some great ideas, too. I also love how they can be used to hold things in place (like dies when running through my Cuttlebug) or acting as masks without being difficult to remove.

  82. I don't have a single roll of washi tape! That may seem incomprehensible to people who have a lot, but honestly, I just don't think I'd use it. I am SO not creative! Love seeing what other people make, though.

  83. I've got about a dozen rolls, but have actually only used it once. I need to work on using it more. It makes a great simple border on a card or scrapbook page. I used it to make a plain 3" x 4" card into a very pretty journaling card for project life.

  101. I was slow to the washi tape game, but have slowly started a collection. I received a birthday card from a friend, with a birthday cake made from washi tape. But I didn't have any. Then, I won a washi tape carousel at a Scrap Expo and HAD to get something to put in it!. Well--now it is full and then some, and another "collection" has begun! Shellee srobisonatbrown-strauss.com

  102. I have about 10-15 rolls of washi tape. I need to use it more often, but I like using it as an accent on my scrapbook pages.

  104. I've only just started using Washi tape. I'm scared to buy too many because I tend to hoard and not want to use things up so only think what having 50 rolls of washi tape on me will do! they'll all just sit there for years!!

  105. I use Washi tape ... I love all the colors and patterns and I can't begin to tell you how many rolls I have! I have found that I'm starting to hoard it a little ... kind of like that paper I'm saving for just the right project!!

  106. I use washi tape mostly on cards. I think it adds that little something extra, especially on the inside of the card. I probably have about 25-30 rolls so far and keep adding to my collection.

  107. I just recently got into collecting washi tape (LOL, yes I am developing a collection). I store it in a clear green shoebox. I have not used it on one project yet LOL! I did add some to some tealight candles - that's cute & I might end up doing that for some gifts down the road. But, as for right now, I'm just collecting ;-)
