It's my Birthday!

Today is my birthday!  This morning I am planning to finish some paperwork and projects around the house to get ready for some family visitors.  Then it will be time to do whatever strikes my fancy.  Later on, the plan is to have lobster rolls at a local restaurant for dinner (and maybe some cake too!)

I found a few photos to share...

The happy little girl with a cake half her size is me on my fourth birthday.

Here I am at 21 - and yes, it is the same cake pedestal.  Our family tradition was that all birthday cakes were served from this cake stand.   The special serving piece made the cakes taste just a little bit better.  The candles are lined up to make a "21" on the cake.

This photo is from 2010 and the cake is on a flat plate but it still tasted delicious!

I've added photos of several of the birthday cards I've made over the past few years - click any of the images to see the original posts.

What kinds of cards do you make the most often?  Birthday, Thank You, Congratulations, Just Because...  What is your favorite type of card to make?

    1. Hi Vanessa - Happy Birthday to your niece. I think that birthday cards are probably the most commonly made (if you don't count holiday cards). It's good to have some made ahead of time!

  15. Best wishes for a wonderful birthday. Enjoy your evening out to dinner. I mostly make birthday cards. It's a tie between StampinUp cards and my Cricut. I love them both. I just won a Silhouette Portrait, but haven't opened the box yet.

  39. Happy Birthday Diane!! I hope your day brought as much enjoyment to you, as you bring to all of us, as your share your talents. I wish you many many more! (Birthdays AND projects!) I started out primarily as a scrapbooker, but have recently begun to make more cards. However, I am so picky that even simple cards take lots of time---hopefully I learn to let go of some of that! Happy Day!

    1. Hi Shellee - Thanks for the birthday wishes! I know what you mean about being picky - sometimes things come together quickly and sometimes nothing seems to "work" - just allow yourself to make some cards that aren't "masterpieces" and move on! (easier said than done)
