What's happening this week...

The Wedding Affaire on the Cuttlebug Challenge Blogspot begins Monday - the Design Team is pulling out all the stops for a fabulous event.  If you missed the "Save the Date" you can find it HERE.  The event runs from June 14th through June 19th.  Senior Design team member Shantaie Fowler designed this wonderful save the date card - you can see more of her work on her blog Inking Pink.  Check out her clever way to turn one stamp into many HERE.

I am so excited to tell you about the Creative Memories sale starting on Monday, June 14th.  Some of the most popular items are included in this sale - six full power palettes ($36.30 instead of $60.50), the new rotary trimmer ($18 instead of $30), and lots of organizers, cases and totes. The fabulous StoryBook Creator Plus 3.0 software that I use all of the time and have recommended often is $38.97 instead of $64.95 - that is an amazing value!

If you have been thinking about getting into digital scrapping this is a great time to start.  The program comes with some digital kits and content to get you going.  There is a lot more available through Creative Memories and you can also use digital content that you have already by importing it into your Content Manager.  There are many freebies available through CM and at various places online.  I use this program for many things in addition to making scrapbook pages and books.

There is great help on the Creative Memories site to guide you through learning how to use this program.  It is very easy to use but you can also achieve very sophisticated effects.  I will be doing some free online classes for the people who have purchased the StoryBook software through me.  I also have been creating more digital freebies to give away.  I'd love to have some of you join these sessions.

This LINK will take you to the page about the sale on my Creative Memories personal website where you can purchase the sale or other items.  I appreciate your support in purchasing through me but if you already have a consultant that you work with I do not want to interfere with that relationship.  The sale is for two weeks only and quantities are limited.  Please contact me with any questions.

I did get some creating done this weekend but it has to remain "secret" for a few more days.  I'll post one of the projects tomorrow as soon as I finish with the assembly!

  1. Knew there was a reason I liked your designs & blog in general - it's the CM connection as I am also a CM consultant (since 2001). I'm new to Cricut & have been enjoying incorporating the two. Sorybook Creator is awesome for so many projects! Can you explain how people use the 3D scrapbook page designs in an album without ruining their pics? Can they even close the album?

  2. Hi Karen,

I'm with you on the 3D pages - sometimes there is way too much going on! I want my photos to show and not be overwhelmed by the decoration. I always say that I am a "flat scrapper" but I really enjoy using all of the bulky things in cards and other projects.

StoryBook Creator really is an amazing program - I use it almost every day!

  3. That sale is amazing for CM! I purchased the SC+3.0; have it loaded on the computer; but haven't done anything with it yet. I would love to get in on some of your classes. Just to be to do the wording in waves and different angles would be great. I would love to figure out how to use it on cards.

  4. Hi Diane. I am confused, lol. Can you use this program to make journal ing tags and embellishments to enhance scrapbook pages that you use Cricut projects on? I follow your blog everyday but I'm not sure how you incorporate the two. Also do you have to buy more software updates for this? Thanks, Mary M

  5. Hi Mary,

You can use this program to create tags, cards, scrapbook pages, posters - pretty much anything you can think of. You can save anything you create as a .jpeg and have it printed - or made into a mug, or a calendar, etc...

If you check the labels in the side column (still working on redoing these) for CM Storybook Creator Plus 3.0 you can see lots of examples of things I have used it for (in addition to making actual books).

The software is updated regularly. They did do an upgrade recently and there was a fee for that but it was only $10 if you did it when it was first announced and they made huge additions and improvements to the program - well worth it.

You get some content (page designs, digital paper and embellishments) with the software and there is much more available through CM or other sources online. There is also a lot of free content that you can use in the program - once again, either from CM or other sources. I make some of my own content as well from photos and basic shapes.

Please let me know if you have more questions.
