Anchor Card - Last day for this set of free images

Today is the last day that the Cricut New England Shore image set is available to use for free.  A new set should be up starting tomorrow.  Remember, to find the free images each week, go to the Cricut website and choose "Make" at the top of the page.  Then choose "Free Images" from the menu bar at the top.  They usually change on Wednesdays.  The name of the image set and the dates it will be free are listed in the box superimposed on the images.

You don't need to go to the shopping area of the website to get access to the free images. Just log in to the Craftroom or Design Space and you will see the free set available in your account.  Remember, it is only there for a week - if you really like the set, you should buy it or check to be sure it is in the Image Subscription and subscribe.

I used all but one of the set of six images on this layout (details about this are HERE if you missed the post last weekend).  So I decided to make a quick card with the last image of the anchor.

I made a simple A2 card with two mat layers, the white is cut at 5 1/4 x 4 inches and the navy is cut at 5 x 3 3/4 inches.  I embossed the navy layer with the D'Vine Swirls Cuttlebug folder (I think it looks a bit like waves).

This is a very flat card - I did not use foam dots to raise up the anchor image.  When I put these pieces together, something seemed wrong to me...

I finally realized that I needed to round the corners of the card base as well - doesn't this look better?  I used the rounded corners to coordinate with the curvy lines of the shape behind the anchor image.

I haven't added photos to this layout yet.  I am considering the idea of dividing two of the 4 x 6 photo mats into smaller sections.  I'll give it another day or two and decide once I have chosen some photos.  I am not used to making the page without having the photos already selected.

Here are all of the images (along with the "Cape Cod" title from the Destinations cartridge) used for the layout and the card.  I wonder what set will be featured tomorrow - if I had to guess I would say something patriotic with the 4th of July almost here!

My other project today was making a "Lincoln" hat with my young neighbor Cailean for her school project about Illinois.  Not bad for for five pieces of 8 1/2 x 11 black cardstock, some ribbon and lots of adhesive!

Today will be a busy day - one of the items on the agenda is a quick trip to IKEA to get a few things I need to finish up with the reorganization of my craft space. I am already enjoying the changes and I have found all sorts of things that I had forgotten!

I hope you have a wonderful day!
